With a dreamy voice, self-taught guitar playing and an almost mystical atmosphere, the Swedish singer-songwriter I'm Kingfisher (Thomas Jonsson) from year to year. His mix of blues and indie/folk has been celebrated far beyond Sweden's borders - with attention from renowned media such as KEXP, NPR: All Songs Considered, BBC, Uncut, Independent and The Times.
With his mixture of Americana and Scandinavian melancholy, Jonsson is constantly refining his style. He is currently working on his ninth solo album and at the same time working on the music for the upcoming feature film Biodlaren (Eng. The beekeeper). Although he spends most of his time in the studio in 2025, he is an experienced touring musician who has already played in over 20 countries in Europe and the USA, including the renowned SXSW Festival in Austin.
The concert in Wismar will be his first appearance in the city and his first concert in Germany for almost ten years.
I'm Kingfisher is often associated with artists such as Neil Young, Bob Dylan, M. Ward or Cat Power compared. His current album Glue was published by Sweden's largest daily newspaper Aftonbladet as one of the best albums of 2023. The predecessor The Past Has Begun won the Swedish Music Prize in 2021 Manifesto. In 2022 he wrote and sang the title song The Pain of Happiness for the movie Comedy Queenwho won the Berlinale's Glass Bears was awarded.

His blend of blues and indie/folk has been critically acclaimed far beyond the borders of Sweden. being highlighted among others by KEXP, NPR: All Songs Considered, BBC, Uncut, Independent and The Times. Relentlessly refining his americana laced with Scandinavian melancholy, he's currently working on his ninth solo album simultaneously with the music for the forthcoming movie Biodlaren. He's spending most of the time in the studio during 2025, still he's an experienced traveler, having toured in more than 20 countries, in Europe and USA (including SXSW festival in Austin). This'll be his first ever show in Wismar and his first time playing in Germany for nearly 10 years.
